ProDesign Named a Harmony Partner by Novas Software, Inc.
WILSONVILLE, OR -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 19-05-2004 --
ProDesign, the proven source for
hardware-assisted verification platforms for ASIC and SoC development today
announced it has joined the Novas Harmony Program. Novas Software, Inc. is
the leading provider of open, interoperable debug systems for complex chip
designs. The addition of ProDesign as a member of the Novas Harmony Program
will see the two companies offer tools that interoperate through a single
unified interface to optimize the verification flow and reduce tool
complexity and learning curves.
ProDesign's CHIPit prototyping and emulation platform will integrate
components of the Novas debug platform to offer a complete development
solution for the early debugging of SoC designs. Novas debug systems
accelerate the process of understanding complex chip behavior to improve
design, verification and debug productivity. The integrated ProDesign-Novas
solution will provide an intuitive way to track and correct causes of
errant behavior before the design is implemented in the CHIPit
Prototyping/Emulation System.
"The Novas Harmony Partner Program allows us to offer a complete
verification solution to designers using our CHIPit family of platforms and
Novas debug systems," said Gerhard Scherer, president of ProDesign USA.
"With the interoperability between Novas' Debussy Debug System and
ProDesign's CHIPit Systems, designers can quickly isolate errors and
identify the source of the problem. This integration further increases the
productivity of a full-custom design verification methodology."
"With the increased complexity and custom silicon content of today's SoC
designs, designers need verification solutions that reduce their own
integration efforts and provide a significant edge in the overall quality
and confidence of their SoC products," said George Bakewell, director of
Technical Marketing at Novas. "Novas is committed to collaborating with
companies like ProDesign that are on the lead-edge of addressing these
challenges with solutions for verifying SoC designs in real hardware."

About Novas Harmony Program
Novas established the Harmony program in 1999 to lower the cost of EDA tool
interoperability. The Harmony program provides developers of verification
and other tools with software licenses, engineering support for integration
efforts, and ongoing support for mutual customers. Novas' open application
programming interfaces (APIs) ensure that the widest range of chip design
and verification solutions can take advantage of its industry-leading debug
capabilities.
